Thirty years ago, imagine began as a newsletter. Today, as the imagine team prepares to release imagine 2026, we are taking an important next step: beginning September 1, the entire imagine resource library will become public access for all.
Over three decades, imagine has grown into an international multimedia resource shaped by more than 1,000 authors from 53 countries. Students, practitioners, researchers, colleagues, and scholars have contributed to one shared purpose: improving the lives of young children and their families through music therapy.
For me, this decision is also deeply meaningful. Free access is about more than removing barriers. It is about making sure that three decades of knowledge can be found, shared, questioned, and built upon—and that evidence-informed perspectives on early childhood music therapy remain visible in a world increasingly shaped by digital technologies and AI.
I see this next chapter of imagine as part of its legacy: not simply preserving what we have created, but making it available so others can carry it forward.
