Dr. Petra Kern has been invited to present at the prestigious 25th Anniversary International Early Childhood Inclusion Institute, hosted by the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Her session, titled Voices of Inclusion: Beneficiary and Parent Perspectives from Sinfonía por el Perú,” will be co-presented with Luis Castillo and Anel Vásquez, representatives of the renowned Peruvian music education initiative Sinfonía por el Perú.

Drawing on Dr. Kern’s recent Fulbright Specialist engagement, this presentation highlights the importance of incorporating the direct perspectives of children and families in shaping inclusive programming. The team will share findings from structured interviews with beneficiaries and parents, tools for capacity building, and a roadmap for developing inclusive, music-based community education programs.

Dr. Kern is honored to share this work among internationally respected scholars, policymakers, and practitioners—bringing attention to the unique role of music as a medium for social inclusion, empowerment, and equity in early childhood development.

Stay tuned for more updates from the event and future collaborations supporting inclusive practices around the globe.
