During my time as a Fulbright Specialist with Sinfonía por el Perú, I had the opportunity to collaborate with incredible teams dedicated to creating lasting change through music education. Together, we worked on shifting from a mainstreaming model to a fully inclusive framework—where every beneficiary, regardless of ability, has the right to participate in all aspects of the program.

Our work was grounded in the principles of human rights and the belief that every individual deserves access to high-quality music education, meaningful participation, and individualized support. Through collaboration with the PEE, GIS, and GMP teams, we addressed concerns, designed inclusion strategies, and proposed a 5-year roadmap that will allow Sinfonía to be a leader in inclusive music education in Peru and Latin America.

This initiative goes beyond just educational reform; it impacts the lives of beneficiaries—children and adolescents of all abilities—giving them a platform to thrive. We also engaged parents in the process, listened to their perspectives and expectations for their children, and created resources to support their journey. I am truly grateful to everyone at Sinfonía por el Perú for trusting me to be part of this transformative process and for embracing the vision of an inclusive future.

Ultimately, this work isn’t just about inclusion within the walls of Sinfonía but about contributing to a larger, global movement toward equity and accessibility for all. It is through the power of music and shared vision that we are fostering change in our communities, countries, and the world.
