In celebration of #WorldMusicTherapyWeek, Dr. Petra Kern, Dr. Daniel Tague, and collaborator Puchong Chimpiboon, Chair of WFMT’s Clinical Practice Commission, are pleased to announce the launch of the Global Music Therapy Survey: Evaluating Practice Statuses and Trends Worldwide – A Decade Later.

This IRB-approved, international study is a follow-up to the landmark 2016 global survey—the largest of its kind—and marks a significant step in building the first longitudinal dataset on global music therapy practice. The goal is to explore how the profession has evolved over the past ten years in terms of demographics, employment, clinical approaches, and professional identity.

Why is this important?
The results will provide valuable insights into current developments in the field, identify training and workforce needs, and guide future research and advocacy efforts around the world.

Who should participate?
All active, practicing music therapists are invited to take part—regardless of region or specialty.

Time commitment:
The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.

Open from: April 7 to April 28, 2025
